Over the past six months, Modderkolk Projects & Maintenance BV has been working closely with Saltes (formerly Brabetech) on a new R&D project for the Thermalpod: an innovative heat battery from Saltes that utilizes sustainable energy more intelligently.

In this project, both companies combined their strengths. Modderkolk designed the control panel and handled the hardware engineering. Saltes took on the software design and built the panel, under the guidance of our engineers. “We believe it’s important that the client receives the support they envision and to guide them through this process,” says Rick Plaizier, project manager at Modderkolk.

A unique aspect of this collaboration was the joint software development. A Saltes employee with no software engineering experience worked daily with an experienced Modderkolk colleague. “They truly built it together,” says Rick. “Because they worked together in the same building, communication was fast and effective.”

Those short lines of communication made all the difference. “There are always challenges,” says Bram Bens, owner of Saltes, “but with good communication, you solve them together.” He continues: “We truly consider Modderkolk our partner in automation. The collaboration was very pleasant and positive.”

Both parties look back and forward with satisfaction. “We hope to collaborate with Saltes on many more new solutions in the future,” says Rick.

This collaboration underscores what we stand for at Modderkolk: technical innovation and strong, sustainable partnerships. Would you also like to collaborate with us on innovative solutions? Contact us or visit our website for more information.
